Baby Layettes
Baby Layettes Program
Welcoming a new baby into the world is a special moment, and the Ladysmith Health Care Auxiliary is proud to support local families through our Baby Layettes Program. This program provides free baby layette sets to all Ladysmith families, regardless of where their baby is delivered, including hospitals like NRGH and CDH.
Each lovingly prepared layette includes essentials like sleepers, onesies, socks, hats, blankets, receiving blankets, and handmade afghans – perfect for keeping little ones warm and cozy. Thanks to the dedication of volunteer sewers and crafters, many layettes also include handmade bibs, t-shirts, and pants, adding a personal, heartfelt touch. On average, the Auxiliary donates over 75 layettes each year, ensuring that every newborn in our community gets a warm welcome.
These layettes are distributed through Public Health Nurses, the Ladysmith Family and Friends (LAFF) organization, and the Ladysmith Resources Centre Association’s Born Healthy Program, reaching families when they need it most.
