Supporting Creativity Connection and Community
The Ladysmith Health Care Auxiliary is proud to award a $5,000 grant to the Arts Council of Ladysmith and District in support of its Vintage and Valuable program.
Vintage and Valuable provides a welcoming space where adults aged 55 and older can connect with others, stay active and express themselves through the arts. The program encourages creativity, builds confidence, supports well-being and helps reduce social isolation.
At the Ladysmith Health Care Auxiliary, we believe health and wellness come in many forms. We are proud to support programs like Vintage and Valuable that bring people together, inspire creativity and strengthen connections within our community.

Cowichan Family Caregivers Support Society

Community Donations Turned Into Community Care
On April 28, the Ladysmith Health Care Auxiliary was honoured to present a $12,500 grant to the Cowichan Family Caregivers Support Society and to learn more about the compassionate work taking place in their community office.
The Society provides free support to families caring for loved ones living with a disability or life-limiting diagnosis. Through support groups, one-to-one emotional support, help navigating the health-care system, practical resources, education and wellness opportunities, caregivers are reminded that they do not have to carry their responsibilities alone.
This grant will help the Society continue creating a place where caregivers can find understanding, guidance and connection. We are grateful to its staff and volunteers for the care they provide to families throughout the Cowichan region.

Funding is available to:
Registered charities (considered a gift under LHCA policy)
Non-profit organizations (considered a grant)
Please ensure your organization falls into one of these categories before applying. LHCA may request additional information to support your application.
What We Fund
This grant supports initiatives that:
Improve accessibility in public or community spaces
Provide support services to help seniors remain independent
Offer social, recreational, or wellness programs
Reduce isolation and enhance community connection
Advocate for and address the needs of people with disabilities
Projects can be small or large in scope, and we welcome innovative ideas that promote inclusion and dignity for seniors and individuals with diverse abilities.
Application Requirements
All applicants must:
Submit a completed application form
Provide additional documentation, if requested
Include a clear description of how the funds will be used
Submit a short final report on how the funds were spent
Please note: Incomplete applications or failure to submit a final report may affect your eligibility for future funding. Grants and gifts are awarded at the discretion of the LHCA Board of Directors and are subject to membership approval.
