Jim Brown
I joined the Ladysmith Health Care Auxiliary in the spring of 2024 and am relishing my time in receiving. There, I work alongside wonderful volunteers and get to meet many great people as they drop off their generous donations.
I was elected to serve on the Board of Directors at the recent AGM (February 2025) in the role of Director at Large. I have very much enjoyed working with the Auxiliary to date and am eager to contribute wherever and however I can to the Board in the coming years. I have extensive past volunteer leadership experience with organizations such as Rotary, United Way, and Leadership BC.
My former career of 35 years in federal public service included significant executive experience in both service delivery and human resource development. Post-retirement, I have also taught university courses in both Canada and China on topics such as General Management, Organizational Leadership, and Organizational Behaviour.
On a more personal level, I enjoy working on our hobby farm, playing golf, and hiking (I go on at least one overseas hiking holiday every year). I am a recently published author of a work of fiction and currently have a few other writing projects in the works.
