Ladysmith Health Care Auxiliary
The Heart of our Auxiliary’s Legacy
We began in 1909 with a small group of compassionate women supporting their local hospital. Over time, it has grown into a vibrant organization of over 250 volunteers. Today, we proudly operate one of Vancouver Island’s top thrift stores, with every sale supporting local health care and community wellness.
As our hospital transitioned to a community health care centre, so did our mission. Through it all, the Auxiliary has remained committed to enhancing the quality of life in Ladysmith, building a legacy of care and compassion that continues to this day.

Recent Achievements
In 2025, we increased our bursaries for Ladysmith Secondary students to $30,000 across 10 awards, helping the next generation of leaders reach their full potential.
In 2024, the Auxiliary proudly donated $374,414 in financial gifts to organizations, including significant contributions to student awards, health care programs, and community services.
So far in 2025, we have already approved $153,600 in community gifts, reinforcing our commitment to making a meaningful difference in the lives of our neighbours.
